To everything there is a season...

It's as reliable as winter, spring, summer, and fall. In June we celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates and wish them farewell, and in July, our new residents join us in the Phipps Lobby and are introduced to the faculty. Ten interns complete a year at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, and three join as PGY2s having completed a year of initial training elsewhere. The atmosphere at the Welcome Lunch is festive, if a little anxious for the new residents, because after lunch they head to the wards to sign out with the outgoing PGY2s and assume the care of their patients. Orientation activities, begun earlier in the week, will continue, but if there is a true beginning to the year, this is it!
